Diplomatic Reshuffle Announced
January 29th, 2008
Zagreb, January 29 (CP) – An abrupt and uncalled for changes have been announced in top positions of Croatian diplomacy. Seasoned diplomat Mirjana Mladineo, who many believe to be responsible for Croatia’s successful entry into the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member just a few weeks ago is to be replaced as Croatia’s permanent representative in the UN Security Council by HDZ staff, Neven Jurica.
Jurica has up until now been Croatia’s Ambassador to the U.S.
Mladineo is to be posted as the head of the Croatian UN mission in Geneva, while there is speculation that former Foreign Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic would be replacing Jurica in Washington.
