Croatia Rapporteur Hannes Swoboda Visiting Zagreb on Wednesday
Zagreb, February 5 (CP) – A European Parliament delegation led by Croatia rapporteur Hannes Swoboda is arriving in Croatia on Wednesday.
Swoboda and members of the delegation are expected to meet with president Stjepan Mesic, PM Ivo Sanader and visit the parliament.
In his latest draft report to the European Parliament foreign policy committee, Swoboda claims that Croatia may experience problems in further EU membership negotiations due to implementing the Protected Ecology and Fisheries Belt in the Adriatic against EU members.
In his report, Swoboda also expressed concern over criticism by the European Commission regarding the way European funds were managed by Croatian authorities.
At this point in time, Croatia still has a chance to impact the draft report and make it more favourable and also has the possibility of putting in amendments prior to the final report being put before the European Parliament.
