Croatian Generals’ ICTY Trial To Begin on March 11

Zagreb, February 7 (CP) – The Hague Tribunal (ICTY) has announced that the trial in the case of Gotovina, Cermak and Markac would begin on March 11 and ordered the return into custody of General Ivan Cermak on March 5.
The initial pre-trial hearing is to be held on March 10, while the prosecution is to put forward its introduction on March 11. The defence is to do the same on March 12, if it decides so.
The three Croatian generals Ante Gotovina, Mladen Markac and Ivan Cermak have been indicted for war crimes committed during operation Storm. Cermak is the only one of the three on provisional release pending trial.
