Croatian Arms Dealer Loses Court Battle against Croatia in Arms Deal Trial
February 8th, 2008
Zagreb, February 8 (CP) – Former Croatian arms dealer Zvonko Zubak who sued Croatia for $200 million plus interest claiming he was never paid for the S-300 rocket system he had supplied Croatia with back in 1995.
Had Zubak not lost the court case, this would have been the priciest ruling in the history of the Croatian judiciary and the budget would have suffered the hardest blow yet.
Not only has Zubak lost the court proceedings, but he will also have to cover € 1 million in court fees.
The expired statute of limitations was the reason given for the court case to finally be thrown out after years of legal rengling.
