Resignations Offered in Wake of Bogus Croatia PM Interview Scandal
February 11th, 2008
Zagreb, February 11 (CP) – The Jutarnji List daily Editor-in-Chief Tomislav Wruss and editor of the EPH public sector editions Davor Butkovic have offered their resignations following the scandal of the publishing of a fake interview with PM Ivo Sanader in the paper’s Saturday edition.
Butkovic has admitted responsibility for not acting in a professional manner and not double-checking sources before publishing the interview and said he was solely responsible for the blunder.
Ninoslav Pavic, Europapress Holding (EPH) co-owner has commented on the resignations by saying he did not think Butkovic meant any harm through his actions and it was unlikely that his resignation would be accepted.
