Croatia’s Ivica Kostelic Comes Second in FIS World Cup Slalom Race on Mt. Sljeme; Austria’s Mario Matt Wins

Zagreb, February 17 (CP) – Croatia’s top skier Ivica Kostelic came in second in the first ever FIS World Cup slalom race on his home turf at Mt. Sljeme overlooking Zagreb on Sunday, with Austria’s Mario Matt winning.
Kostelic was second in the first race, but Mario Matt was better than him in the second run, beating Kostelic by 33 hundreds of a second, while Rein Herbst of Austria was third arriving just seven hundreds of a second behind Kostelic.
This is the fifth time in a row that Kostelic has been on the podium in the World Cup this year.
