Croatian Foreign Minister and Government Claim that Croatia Will Take its Time in Recognizing Kosovo
February 18th, 2008
Zagreb, February 18 (CP) – Croatia’s Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic and the government are claiming they would follow the stance of the EU regarding Kosovo’s recognition stating that there is no need for Croatia to make hasty moves regarding the issue.
The government is closely following events on Kosovo both on Sunday and the following day as well as EU reactions to them.
Two years ago, when Montenegro declared its independence from Yugoslavia, the government acted in exactly the same way. Namely, once the EU recognized Montenegro, the PM called an emergency government session at which Montenegro was recognized as a sovereign and independent country.
