Revised Indictment Submitted in the Gotovina, Markac and Cermak ICTY Trial
February 26th, 2008
Zagreb, February 26 (CP) — Some 2 weeks before the trial of Croatian generals Ante Gotovina, Ivan Cermak and Mladen Markac at the International War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague, prosecutors have submitted a revised indictment against the three, which includes amendments.
Prosecutors claim that the amendments do not contain any new facts or new legal grounds for the indictments, something the defence disagrees with.
The trial is set to start on March 11th. The 3 former generals are charged with crimes committed during and after operation Storm in 1995 when the Croatian army took back territory occupied by rebel Serbs.
