22-year-old Split Road Rage Killer Arrested
Zagreb, March 2 (CP) – The killer of a 24-year-old man in Split who stabbed and killed the victim during a road rage incident on early Saturday morning is arrested.
The 22-year-old is claiming he did not stab the victim, but rather the victim accidentally fell onto the knife blade.
The trouble began when a car carrying the 24-year-old victim and his fiancée overtook another car on the road.
The occupants of the other car caught up with the victim’s vehicle and forced the driver out.
Once the driver and a friend driving a car behind him came out of their vehicles the mob led by the killer surrounded them and the victim was taken aside and stabbed.
The mob fled and the victim died in the arms of his fiancée.
The killer claims he is sorry about what had happened and says that he had no intention of stabbing the guy, let alone killing him, but that he reacted to being hit by a baseball bat on the head a couple of times. The police have not been mentioning the existence of a baseball bat in the case.
The killer has been placed in one month’s detention in order to avoid him influencing the witnesses during the investigation process.
