Croatia Caught up in a Storm Halting Traffic and Severing Power Lines
March 6th, 2008
Zagreb, March 6 (CP) – Croatia was battered by strong winds and there were snow storms in some parts of the country overnight with traffic being halted in places and power cut.
Parts of the northern Adriatic have had their power cut after 130 kilometre winds swept through the area causing traffic havoc and resulting in roads being closed in Lika and Gorski Kotar.
The A1 motorway is only open to passenger cars, which are then diverted via D27 and D50 and brought back onto A1, the same being true for the A6 Zagreb – Rijeka road.
The Imotski region has also been hard-hit with snow still falling in the area.
