Croatia Formally Recognizes Kosovo
March 19th, 2008
Zagreb, March 19 (CP) – At its closed-door session, the Croatian government has formally recognized Kosovo’s independence, joining some 30 countries that have recognized it so far.
Kosovo had declared its independence on February 17.
It is yet to be seen now how the government coalition partners, namely the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) will react to this and whether the recognition will result in the break-up of the government coalition with the SDSS walking out, as threatened earlier.
