Croatia and Montenegro To Discuss Maritime Border in May
Zagreb, April 12 (CP) – Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic and his Montenegrin counterpart Milan Rocen have announced the holding of the first round of talks of the joint commission of the two countries on the issue of the maritime border at Prevlaka.
According to an earlier agreement the Commission should draw up an international agreement which will be offered to the International Court of Justice in The Hague which should then make a final ruling on the maritime delimitations, which will be observed by both countries.
A temporary agreement brokered in 2002 is in effect at Prevlaka, which gave Croatia control of the land segment of the Prevlaka peninsula and the sea belt of the bay mouth measuring some 500 meters.
