Large Workers’ Protest Rally To Bring Croatian Capital Zagreb to a Standstill at Noon
Zagreb, April 12 (CP) – A huge protest rally organised by the main workers’ associations in Croatia aimed at highlighting the increasing slumping of the workers’ quality of living is to be held at noon in Zagreb’s main square with some 40,000 participants expected and blocking traffic from certain parts of the capital.
It is yet to be seen how much support will be drummed up for the protest, as it is rainy and relatively cold, but the issues at stake are representing a big problem this may actually prompt people to join in.
A virtual traffic standstill is expected between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in large parts of the city centre.
The protestors will be rallying in favour of the increase in wages, better living conditions and availability of medical treatment, education and justice for all of Croatia’s citizens.
The crowds are expected to disperse around 3 p.m., when the end of the protest is planned.
