Croatian Midfielder Luka Modric, Dinamo Zagreb Captain, Signs for Tottenham for € 26 Million
April 26th, 2008
Zagreb, April 26 (CP) – The Dinamo Zagreb soccer club captain Luka Modric has become a member of Tottenham late last night, as he signed a 5-year deal for a fantastic € 26 million!
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City were all said to have had an eye on Modric, but Spurs captured him making a bank-breaking offer that Dinamo could not refuse.
Modric became internationally recognized during the EURO 2008 qualifications, where he was one of the driving forces behind the good games Croatia had presented, among other victories, knocking England out of the tournament.
