Strong Growth of Mobile Telephony in Croatia

Zagreb, May 12 (CP) – A strong rise in the minutes of mobile telephones used in Croatia has been recorded in the first quarter of 2008, reports the State Statistics Bureau.

A growth of 24 percent has been recorded year-on-year with a drop of fixed telephony usage of nine percent.

The current three mobile telephone networks in Croatia have 4.5 million customers.

The rise in text messages sending has also been recorded of 32.5 percent year-on-year and multi-media messages (MMS) of which 8.74 million have been sent, up 50 percent year-on-year.
