The Government To Try and Broker a Lower Rise in the Price of Electricity
May 27th, 2008
Zagreb, May 27 (CP) – The deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec has said speaking to a Zagreb daily that the final decision on the increase in the price of electricity called for by the Croatian Electricity Board (HEP) would be decided on on June 15.
Polancec stressed that the government would try and agreed an increase that will be less than then sought after 20 percent.
HEP is explaining its call for a rise in prices by saying that the price of electricity on the world stock exchanges had gone up by 100 percent in the past year, as well as the price of fuel used to power the thermo electric plants producing electricity.
